Meet Our Herd
Living Hope currently utilizes six therapy horses in our weekly lesson program and has additional horses made available for use in our Veteran's program. The horses are well cared for by the dedicated staff of Poco Vista Ranch. We offer many sponsorship options if you are interested in sponsoring a horse to help offset the cost of boarding, medical care, and farrier.
Lazy Assets
(Piper)
Piper is registered AQHA Mare and is one of the founding horses of Living Hope and is loaned to us through our horse lease program by Joy Boke. Piper shows in both English and Western classes and excels in English with her gorgeous stride and long legs.
MR AOK Talkin Cooper
(Cooper)
Cooper is a registered AQHA Gelding and was donated in February of 2023 by Chuck and Jody Artymovich. Cooper was shown by Chuck in many Western classes including Horsemanship, Trail, Western Pleasure, and Showmanship. He is a great horse that looks out for his riders no matter their skill level.
Magic Zippo Deck
(Oliver)
Oliver is a registered AQHA Gelding and is part of our program thanks to the support of his owners Amy and her son (and accomplished rider) Ty Valenciano. We are so thankful to Adam Smith of Smith Performance Horses for finding and preparing such an awesome horse for Ty and our other riders!
Lenas Precious Dove
(PD)
PD is a registered APHA and PtHA Mare and is one of the founding horses of Living Hope and is loaned to us through our horse lease program by Joy Boke. She has been owned and shown by young girls most of her life, and she is an experienced therapy horse. She shows in both English and Western classes and excels in Trail and Showmanship. She has been lovingly referred to as "The Trail Master."
Canya Spot My Detail
(Kenny)
Kenny is a registered AQHA and PtHA registered gelding and was donated by Melinda Boyer. He is easy to find because he's the tallest of our herd and very social! Kenny loves to be groomed and worked with by his ever growing fan club! He excels in horsemanship, equitation, and showmanship.
Keeping It Secret
(Jerry)
Jerry is a registered AQHA gelding leased to our program by his loving owners, Kriste and Taylor Fedor. Jerry was Taylor's trusted show partner for many years and is now sharing his talents and gifts with the riders of Living Hope. Jerry excels in Horsemanship and Equitation and is quickly learning Trail and Showmanship. We're so excited to have this NSBA World Champion in our barn!
Private Horses Supporting Living Hope
While these horses are not specifically part of the therapeutic riding program, their private owners regularly share them with the program in some way. We are thankful for the support of so many, including these wonderful horses.
Chics Dig Freckles
(PD)
PD is a registered AQHA and NRHA Gelding. He is owned and shown by one of our Veterans, Larry Piltingsrud. Larry and Judy, his wife and a member of Living Hope’s Board of Directors, care for PD at their house and regularly bring him to participate in the Veterans Program.
Lazys Best Chocolate
(Ellie)
Ellie is a registered AQHA Mare and owned by Living Hope’s founder and executive director, Tammi Wilson. Not only has Ellie served as back up for various National Horse shows, but she is also Living Hope’s mascot and was the equine-model for our logo. She is always willing to snuggle and offer extra attention to anyone in the barn needing encouragement. Though she may not be a fan of treats, she loves being pampered and posing in people’s selfies.
